Fraud Tip Line

 

DeFatta & Associates Investigative Services is proud to provide to our clients free use of our toll free Fraud Tip Line, 1-877-504-TIPS. Studies have shown that employee tips are by far the most common way fraud is discovered. These studies have also proven that having a means for employees to anonymously report tips related to fraud allows businesses to discover theft and other problems faster and reduce the lost associated with these frauds.

 

Beyond the obvious financial benefit of stopping fraud in its early stages, an anonymous tip line, such as our Fraud Tip Line, can give a company the opportunity to limit liability involving other issues such as harassment or discrimination. The use of a fraud hotline also allows business owners to uncover issues of concern long before they are exposed in the media and can help protect a company's reputation from being damaged in the eyes of investors, customers, and other stakeholders.

 

How Our Fraud Tip Line Works:

DeFatta & Associates maintains and monitors a toll free number, 877-504-TIPS (8477), that gives the caller an option to speak directly with one of our fraud investigators or leave a detailed voicemail message. We also provide an e-mail address (tips@defattapi.com) so that employees are given this option as well.

You provide the number and e-mail address to your employees and encourage them to use the number if needed. We will assist you in preparing advertisements and other awareness information so that the number is easily accessible to your employees and they become comfortable with the program.

 

Once a call is received, our investigative staff will review the call and write a detailed report outlining the information provided by the tipster. Along with the report we will provide our recommendations on what steps we feel should be taken next by the victim business owners/managers.

 

We then forward the report and recommendations to the person within your business that you designate to receive the information.

 

There is no charge or fee associated with us receiving the tip and forwarding the information to you. Once you review the information provided, you can then decide if you would like the assistance of our highly trained and experienced investigative staff in your response to the allegations or information provided by the tipster.
